Welcome to Clay & Crumb! By accessing our website, placing an order through Square, or purchasing our products, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions.

All baked goods sold by Clay & Crumb are made in a Cottage Food Operation that is not subject to routine government food safety inspection.

We sell two categories of products:

Baked Goods (Cottage Food)

  • Pickup only — no shipping

  • Produced under Connecticut cottage food laws

  • Available for local pickup by scheduled appointment only

Pottery & Handmade Goods

  • May be available for pickup or shipping

  • Shipped items are limited to non-food products only

Ingredients & Allergen Disclosure (Baked Goods)

Ingredients are disclosed on individual product listings and provided upon request.

Our home kitchen may process the following allergens:

  • Milk

  • Eggs

  • Wheat

  • Soy

  • Peanuts

  • Tree nuts

This is not an allergen-free kitchen. Cross-contact may occur; though every effort is made to follow food safety laws that relate to food allergies and cross-contact. Customers with food allergies or sensitivities assume all responsibility when purchasing and consuming our products.

Ordering & Payment (Square)

  • All orders are placed and processed through Square (Square Online, Square Invoices, or Square Point of Sale).

  • Payment is required in full before an order is confirmed.

  • Prices are subject to change without notice.

  • Connecticut sales tax is applied where required by law.

  • Square processes all payments securely. We do not store credit card information.

Pickup Policy (Baked Goods)

  • All bakery items are pickup-only.

  • Pickup times are scheduled in advance through Square or direct communication.

  • Customers are responsible for arriving on time.

  • We are not responsible for product quality after pickup.

  • Orders not picked up at the agreed time may be forfeited without refund.

Shipping Policy (Pottery Items Only)

  • Only pottery and non-food items may be shipped.

  • Shipping costs are calculated through Square or invoiced separately.

  • Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed.

  • We are not responsible for delays caused by shipping carriers.

  • Risk of loss transfers to the customer once the item is shipped.

  • Damaged items must be reported within 2 days of delivery with photos.

Custom Orders

  • Custom baked goods and pottery items may require additional time and cost.

  • Once a custom order is confirmed, it cannot be canceled or refunded.

  • We reserve the right to decline custom orders at our discretion.

Cancellations & Refunds

Baked Goods

  • No refunds once preparation has begun.

  • Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the scheduled pickup time.

Pottery Items

  • Returns or exchanges may be offered at our discretion.

  • Custom pottery items are non-refundable.

Storage & Use

  • Baked goods are best consumed within 2 days of pickup.

  • Proper storage instructions may be provided.

  • We are not responsible for spoilage due to improper handling or storage.

  • Pottery items should be used only as intended and according to any provided care instructions.

Intellectual Property

All content on this website and Square listings—including photos, text, logos, and designs—is the property of Clay & Crumb and may not be copied or used without written permission.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Connecticut law:

  • We are not liable for adverse reactions to food products.

  • We are not liable for damages resulting from misuse of pottery items.

  • Our total liability is limited to the amount paid for the product.

Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut.
